Setting it up
Dashboard: Open your server on the dashboard, go to the Birthdays tab, and pick the channel where announcements should appear. Without a channel selected, nothing is announced. Members: Each member runs/birthday set <day> <month> to register their birthday for your server. The year is optional — if they include it, the announcement will say how old they are turning (e.g. “Happy 22nd birthday!”).
Things worth knowing
The year is always opt-in. Nobody is required to share their birth year. Any member who provided it can remove it by running/birthday set again with just the day and month. To remove their birthday entirely, they run /birthday remove.
Birthdays are per server. Setting a birthday in your server only announces it there — it does not carry across to any other server the bot is in.
Announcement timing. Newt sends one shared announcement in the morning (UTC) for everyone whose birthday falls on that day. If several members share the same birthday, they all appear in a single message with a ping for each.
Leap year birthdays. Members born on 29 February are celebrated on 1 March in years that do not have a leap day.
Upcoming birthdays. Run /birthday next to see the next 10 birthdays coming up in the server, so you never have to guess who is next.
