Set up counting

1

Pick the channel

Run it in the channel, or name one. Counting turns on straight away.
2

Choose the rules

Reactions, resets and chat are on to start with. Change them with the commands below, or on the dashboard’s Counting tab.
Members type 1, then 2, then 3, and so on. A sum counts too: if the next number is 88, 44+44 works. So does a number followed by words, like 57 nice. Newt needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Add Reactions, Read Message History and Manage Messages in the channel.

Rules

Turning it off keeps the count and everyone’s stats.
On to start with: a wrong number resets the count to 1. The mistake and Newt’s message stay, so everyone sees who ruined it.With on:False the count carries on. The wrong number is deleted, and Newt posts the next number. That message goes as soon as somebody gets it right.
On to start with. on:False stops every reaction, right or wrong.
On to start with, so people can talk between numbers. With on:False, anything that isn’t a count is deleted.
Off to start with, so counting twice in a row is a mistake. on:True allows it.
Whoever gets it wrong gets the role. With removeafter, it comes off again after that long, from 1 minute to 30 days. Leave out role to stop giving one.Example: /count setup role role:@Math Noob removeafter:2m
Newt needs Manage Roles, and its own role has to be above the one it gives.

What the reactions mean

Other commands

The count is at that number, so the next one is one more. number:0 starts over. Newt posts the change in the channel.
The server’s count, best and rules. Name a member to see their counts, mistakes, accuracy and rank.
The top 10 counters, the next number and the server best.

Good to know

  • Newt remembers the last 50 numbers. If someone edits one to another number, or deletes it, Newt warns them and posts the next number.
  • A wrong number before anyone has counted costs nothing. It’s deleted, and Newt says the next number is 1.
  • The server best stays when the count resets.
  • A sum with a fraction or a negative answer, like 7/2, isn’t a count.
  • One counting channel per server. Bots and webhooks never count.
  • /count setcount and the dashboard go up to 1,000,000,000.
Permission: Manage Server for /count setup and /count setcount. Everyone for stats and leaderboard.
