# Soundboard

> Upload, edit and reorder your server's sounds from the dashboard.

## <Icon icon="upload" size={24} /> Upload a sound

* mp3 or ogg, up to 512 KB and 5.2 seconds. These are Discord's limits.
* The page checks the length before uploading.

## <Icon icon="pen" size={24} /> Edit a sound

Change the name, emoji and volume as often as you like. The sound stays in everyone's favourites.

You can't replace the audio. Trim the file before uploading.

  Discord can't move a sound. Newt deletes and re-uploads every sound from the first one that moved. Those sounds drop out of every member's favourites.

Moving a sound near the bottom changes little. Moving one near the top re-uploads most of the board. Newt tells you how many before you confirm, and downloads every file first so nothing is lost if one fails.

* Newt needs **Create Expressions** and **Manage Expressions**. If uploads fail, add Newt again with the [invite link](https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=560064328028389386\&scope=bot+applications.commands\&permissions=10170482556662\&response_type=code\&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fnewt.bot%2Fadded) to grant them.

**Permission:** Dashboard access (Manage Server)
