# Reaction roles

> React to a message with an emoji to get a role.

    Right-click the message and pick **Copy Message Link**. Any message in a channel Newt can read works.

Newt adds the emoji to the message. React to get the role, remove the reaction to lose it.

* Newt's role must sit above the role it gives.
* Custom emoji must come from a server Newt is in.
* Nothing is posted when a role is given. If nothing happens, check the role order.
* Up to 20 reaction roles, or 60 with [Premium](/help/premium).
