# Role shop

> Sell your server's roles for Newt coins, shells or pearls.

## <Icon icon="store" size={24} /> Set up the shop

  <Step title="Open the Role shop tab">
    On the [dashboard](/dashboard), open your server and pick **Role shop** under **Engagement**.

  <Step title="Add roles and prices">
    Pick a role, type its price and choose the **Currency**: Newt coins, shells or pearls. Click **Add a role** for another row.

  <Step title="Limit it, if you like">
    To sell only a few of a role, set **Stock**, like 3. Leave it empty for no limit.

  <Step title="Open the shop">
    Switch on **Open the shop** and click **Save**.

  Newt can only sell roles below its own highest role. Drag Newt's role above them in **Server Settings**, then **Roles**.

Pick a role under **Buy a role**, then click **Buy**. Only you see the shop.

    Click **Your roles** in the shop to see the roles you bought here. The bin button throws one away. You don't get anything back.

## <Icon icon="circle-info" size={24} /> Good to know

* What's spent in the shop is gone for good. Nobody gets it, not even the server owner.
* You can't sell a role back, only throw it away. Bought roles last forever, even if you take the role off the shop.
* With a stock, the shop shows how many are left, then **Sold out**. A role thrown away doesn't go back on sale. Raise the stock to sell more.
* Up to 25 roles and a stock of up to 10,000. A price can be up to 1,000,000 coins, 1,000,000,000,000 shells or 100,000 pearls. Free for every server.
* Roles with moderator powers can't be sold. That means Administrator, Ban Members and similar permissions, and roles switched on in the **Moderation** tab.
* Coins come from `/daily`, chatting and bumping, and shells and pearls from [Pond Empire](/fun/pond-empire). Shells come out of your pond first, then its burrow.

**Permission:** Everyone can use `/shop`. Setting up the shop needs **Manage Server**.
