# Sticky Messages That Stay at the Bottom of a Channel

> Pin a message that always reappears at the bottom of a channel after each chat burst — perfect for rules, help instructions, or trading notes.

A sticky message stays pinned to the bottom of a channel no matter how much conversation flows past it. When a burst of chat pushes it up, Newt quietly deletes the old copy and reposts it at the bottom. It's ideal for keeping rules visible in a busy channel, reminding people how to ask for help, or posting a note in a trading channel that no one should have to scroll to find.

## Set Up a Sticky Message

Run `/sticky set <message>` in the channel you want it in, or add one on the dashboard's **Sticky Messages** tab. That's all it takes — the message appears immediately and stays put from there.

## How It Works

When people chat, Newt waits a few quiet seconds, then deletes its old copy and reposts the sticky at the bottom of the channel. It only reposts **once per burst of activity** — not once per message — so it doesn't flood the channel when things get busy.

  The sticky never pings anyone, even if the text contains a mention. Setting a sticky in a channel that already has one replaces the old one rather than stacking two.

Each server can hold up to **20 sticky messages**, with a maximum of **one per channel**. The commands require **Manage Messages**, unless you change that on the **Permissions** tab on the dashboard.
