# Live Server Counters Shown as Discord Channel Names

> Show live stats like member count in your channel list as read-only voice channels — refreshed every 10 minutes, fully customisable via the dashboard.

Counters turn live server stats — member count, bot count, and more — into channel names that anyone in your server can see at a glance. They appear as locked voice channels in a **Server Stats** category, so members can read the numbers without being able to join anything. Every number stays current automatically, with no commands to run after the initial setup.

## Setting it up

    Navigate to your server on the dashboard and select **Counters**.

    Tick the statistics you want to display. Word each channel name however you like, using `{count}` wherever the number should appear — for example, `Members: {count}` or `👥 {count} members`.

    Save your changes. The channels appear in a **Server Stats** category within about 30 seconds.

  There are no slash commands for counters — all setup and changes happen through the dashboard.

## Worth knowing

**Update frequency.** Discord only allows a channel to be renamed roughly twice every ten minutes, so counter values refresh on a ten-minute cycle. This limit applies to every bot that offers this feature — the difference is whether the bot tells you about it.

**Renaming and moving the category.** Feel free to rename the **Server Stats** category or drag it anywhere in your channel list. Counters are tracked by their internal ID, not by name, so moving things around won't break anything.

**Accurate channel counts.** The channel counter doesn't include the counter channels themselves in its tally, so enabling this feature won't nudge the number it displays.

**Required permission.** The bot needs the **Manage Channels** permission to create and update counter channels. If that permission is missing, the dashboard row tells you rather than failing silently.

**Counter limits.** Three counters are available on the free plan. Upgrading to Premium raises the limit to eight.
