# Sticky Messages

> A message that stays at the bottom of a channel.

Leave out `channel` to use the one you're in. Or add one on the dashboard's **Sticky Messages** tab.

When people chat, Newt waits for about 8 quiet seconds, then deletes its old copy and posts it again at the bottom.

* One per channel. Setting a new one replaces the old one.
* Up to 20 per server, 1,500 characters each.
* Mentions in it never ping.
* Newt needs **View Channel**, **Send Messages** and **Embed Links** in the channel.
